PROJECTS
Ghost Net Removal
Ghost nets are one of the most dangerous physical threats to our reefs. Abandoned or lost at sea, these fishing nets drift onto the reefs and pinnacles, smothering marine life and coral.
Our team monitors for ghost nets and other marine pollution, and sends dive teams out to recover these physical threats as quickly as possible.
Reef Monitoring Programs
Conducting underwater surveys used to identify and monitor reef biodiversity and factors associated with reef health. Surveys are conducted on reef substrates, corals, invertebrates, and reef fish species and use a variety of different methodologies.
These long-term monitoring projects that gather fundamental data on the reef are essential for informing effective conservation efforts in order to promote a diverse and abundant ecosystem.
VOLUNTEERS
As a not-for-profit program, our team is always looking to facilitate volunteer opportunities for a wide variety of interests and skills that add value to our program and to your CV.
If you have participated in any of our ecoDiving programs, there may be opportunity for you to continue to work on projects explored in your training, including participation in surveys, data collection, net removal and clean up dives, and more. Contact us to learn more.
